First: “We will permanently fire, rather than furlough federal worker if there is a shutdown.”

Then: “OK, we won't fire them, but we won't pay them for the shutdown.”

Eventually: “OK, furloughed federal employees will get full back pay, sort of a vacation, plus a lollipop.”

A producer and editor for WGN-TV was violently forced to the ground this morning by two Border Patrol agents, before having her hands cuffed behind her back, during an ICE action in Chicago’s Lincoln Park neighborhood.

Debbie Brockman has worked for the local television station since 2011.
