It brings a smile to my face and tears to my eyes that this was Jenny’s last post on BS. We had a lot of fun spreading the word about Formica in Souderton. Rest in Power friend, you inspired a movement through your reporting and I’ll be forever grateful. #troublemakers #savepennridge
@qjurecic.bsky.social I feel seen! I started my “Cringey the Ram” tik tok account to educate my local community about the Moms for Liberty take over of our schools in April 2023 and to highlight the work of the “resistance”. We voted them out in Nov 2023. Now we also organize #NoKings protests.
I started keeping tabs after the election on headlines declaring the death of the resistance. There were a lot of them. And they were premature. Resistance 2.0 is more grizzled, and more local. But it is still cringe, in the sense that it believes in things—like community, and America
Resistance Is Cringe
But it’s also effective.

Emerging from the darkness of this era will require us to acknowledge that the previous status quo, including many institutions that may have served us well in another era, have been failing for my entire lifetime.

A big question: It's been at least 18 days since the independent autopsy was done on Trey Reed's body—where are the results?

For perspective: The formal state autopsy was performed on Sept. 17 with results on Sept. 18.

The private autopsy was done before Sept. 27.

We still don't know the outcome.

ICE smash car window & drag 2 sisters out—in front of elementary school at pick up time.

13 masked agents surround car—while children yelled "It's ICE!" running away in fear.

Both Jocelyn and her sister, who was driving, are DACA recipients—and were released after allowed to prove legal status.

Streets are still closed off in front of the Portland ICE facility at 8:30pm. Protesters have gathered on a side street. Dance party in progress.

“… the data out of Montgomery County, Maryland makes one thing unmistakably clear: this crusade is not a mass movement. It’s the obsession of a vanishingly small minority …”
1. 4 months ago, The Supreme Court gave families a right to opt out of LGBTQ+ education in schools.

Now, in Montgomery County, Maryland, where the case originated, the results are in.

Only 43 families out of 160,000 students have exercised that new right.

This has always been a extremely tiny screeching minority demanding that their bigotry dictate that no one else's children can learn of the existence of LGBTQ people.
