My memoir re-launches today under this new cover. I’m glad I was brave to put this out years ago! If I’d write it today, I’d be softer on my dad…we made our amends. But now I write about those conversations separately! Thus is the nature of writing memoir.

Golden Ribbon is a landscape photo I took on horseback, riding along a dirt road. To the left, a honey-gold meadow sways. On the right, a green line of forest is accented by red maples, dotting the distance. A dirt road with its median of tawny grass, growing between the tire tracks, cuts through both scenes and disappears into the woods ahead. Above, the sky is a gradient of cerulean to light blue. Across it, brushstrokes of stratus clouds wisp from right to left. It was a beautiful autumn day that inspired my modern 3-5-3 haiku:

Long road home
