Agreed, 100%. It's incredible how they just don't seem to care about consequences, but just profit...

The event will consist of an hour-long talk + Q&A, followed by the opportunity to try the game as facilitated by the author.

If you are interested in migratory processes, policy, civic education, and how to foster empathy, please come by!

The author of the game, Cody Pietro, will be with us and will discuss the design of this incredibly relevant game, based on numerous interviews with recent immigrants and naturalized US citizens.

Very excited to share an event happening on November 19, at 4:30 pm in Exley 189 at Wesleyan University to explore a multi-award winning board game, "So You Want to Be an American?", about the US Citizenship process and its woes.

If you're in central CT, come by!

Thank you Wesleyan latin and ballroom association for hosting a salsa / bachata / merengue social on campus. I really needed that after an insane week of work.

Also, not sure about the fresh tomato comment below, but in Italy Margherita definitively does not feature fresh tomatoes. But it often has some fresh basil leaves.

The end! Not sure what you call Margherita in NJ 😅
czamboni.bsky.social
The main difference between the two is that Margherita has mozzarella, Marinara does not.
Also, there is a lovely reason about how Margherita pizza got its name: from a queen!

As an Italian born and raised in Italy, I will refrain from adding to this conversation, because what we call a Margherita in Italy might be very different from what you do in the US.

But Margherita in Italy is just about the most basic type of pizza you can get, along with Marinara. 1/2

Also @helloalexroberts.bsky.social I have seen beautiful hacks of FTQ in the past few years (indeed, it is such a hackable game) and even translated one into Italian (the original game in English is by @magicalgurll.com )

Thank you so so much! I will explore all of these. 🙏🏻

Very excited! 😀

This is an official request to all you talented people to make more games that fit in 60-90 minutes! 🙏🏻

People appreciate the new art a lot, and I quickly go over differences. This year we will also include a couple of other games, In This World and Aldsworth 1811 by @tenpenjenn.com - so we might not play the old edition. :)
czamboni.bsky.social
Fun fact: we use both the old edition, which I bought a long time ago, and the new, gorgeous edition

If you enjoyed a game on Itch, leave a comment!

Honestly, it really brightens a creator's day. And it's a big encouragement for others who may be interested in getting that game.

Itch hides reviews from the game page, so I find comments more useful in the long run.

Like a game? Comment away!

Well, I use For The Queen every Fall in my Educational Gaming Lab! Groups of students enjoy your game every year - and I will make sure to share pictures after we play on Wednesday! :)
