I. Love. Baseball. Beat reporter for my own tepid caffeine-driven thoughts Bears/Cubs

If the Bears manage to trade for an edge rusher without mortgaging their future 1st round picks, I will simply die of a massive pulmonary embolism.
Shota Imanaga is a free agent. I hope that Jed & Co have something cooking, because Shota’s option - which is quite affordable - is definitely worth saving the bottom of the rotation from less reliable arms already on the roster.

The most viewed players page on @baseball_ref were:

1. Rickey Henderson on the day he died

2. Juan Soto on the day he signed a $765 million deal

3. Ryan McMahon on the day he was traded from the Rockies to the Yankees
So, you’re saying Loveland is *generational*.
You know who isn’t on this list? Caleb Damn Williams.
9 years ago, the Chicago Cubs ended their historic World Series drought.

Today, the Cubs are competitive, at the very least. As free agency opens - with it, the departure of Kyle Tucker - are the Cubs in a position to stabilize their offense through free agency?
I said the same thing out loud.

Cubs UFAs: Brasier, Castro, Civale, Keller, Pomeranz, Rogers, Santana, Soroka, Thielbar, Tucker

Jed & Co. probably won’t be in the market to repaper these players; replacing production from the bullpen and adding a jolt to an increasingly middling offense will be the items to watch.
As it stands, the Chicago Bears are currently 6th in the NFL with regard to team points scored per game.
Give Caleb Williams his flowers; he kept the Bears in the game long enough to deliver a touchdown pass - a beautiful touchdown pass, at that - when it mattered most. You can criticize his statistical performance but you can’t criticize that dawg in him.
