The Chicago Blackhawks had a long list of alumni on hand for the home opener of the organization's centennial season. Hall of Famers Chris Chelios, Denis Savard and Jeremy Roenick walked the red carpet with the current players ahead of the team’s game against Montreal.

'Living museum': New generation of volunteers aims to restore rare, ancient prairies in Cary
Tucked away in Cary are three separate areas of a rare ecosystem created by melting glaciers tens of thousands of years ago called the gravel hill prairies. These dry grasslands are home to many uncommon, threatened and endangered species that volunteers are trying to ensure won’t vanish due to invasive species taking over the land.
