Their lips met softly, as they so often did, lovers lost in their devotion under the warm glow of star shaped lights above. Two drones so different, and yet similar in ways no one could have ever predicted, occupied this space in a defiance to the natural order of their design. V was built to kill her and her kind – and still Lizzy held her tenderly, because she knew now the degrees of her suffering and the toll it had taken on her. She was no monster in her eyes, least of all in these tenderest of moments together.
So rare was it that V let her hands show. She favoured the security her claws brought her, and yet here there was no threat, no reason to fear or lash out in barbed fury. Lizzy brushed her finger pads gracefully up and down the lengths of V’s digits, until their fingers intertwined with a satisfying click. She was certain their hands were always meant to lace perfectly together like this, like two puzzle pieces longing for reunion.
The twist of a tail wrapped around them, followed by the feeling of fingers smoothing over Lizzy’s back… and oh how V melted under her own touch as she traced patterns against the Disassembler’s casing. There was nowhere either of them would rather be than here.
A melody of two cores played a private and intimate concert, the deep percussive beats of V’s heart thumping in time between the refined ticks of Lizzy’s own as the glass panels of their chests pressed together. A delicate kiss occurred between the LED icons, one skull and one helmed drone, never intended to meet, and yet still they did with a soft, static buzz.
Lizzy could feel V smile - she did so frequently in moments like this, the tips of fangs brushing gently against her lips in a feeling all so familiar to her now. Between small breaks in their lips they whispered words they had both heard perhaps a hundred times over, and yet like a favourite poem they never lost meaning, never failed to stir comfort in their cores.
I love you. I love you.

A snippet of a Murder Drones fanfiction. It reads:
“Oh how the tables have turned,” she grinned. “Now I’m the one with teeth right near your neck.”
V laughed suddenly, and it felt so strangely and genuinely affectionate. “Oh no, how awful,” she drawled, twirling a lock of Lizzy’s hair around her finger. There was a clear smile in her voice. “Oh, please don’t eat me, I have so much to live for…”
Lizzy growled playfully, and clacked her teeth harmlessly against the casing of V’s shoulder, sending another rumble of laughter through the Disassembler. “Mmm, delicious,” Lizzy joked between faux bites. “Maybe I’ll blend you into a soup and have you for breakfast.”
“A terrible choice, really. I’d be far better sautéed.”
Lizzy snorted, taken completely off-guard. She paused for a moment, lingering close, then planted her lips softly against V’s shoulder. V’s head shifted slightly, a tilt, perhaps of intrigue. The flick of the end of her tail suggested so, too.
She alternated from that point, a kiss, followed by a gentle gnaw, followed by another kiss, leading up the crook of V’s neck. Another series of purrs rumbled through V’s chest, as she tilted her head to let Lizzy continue her journey. Lizzy couldn’t help but grin the entire time, punctuating each motion with a little snarl she knew realistically wouldn’t scare the whiskers off a robo-rat.
“Your teeth are so blunt, its actually sort of adora-”
Crack.
They both froze in shock.
Lizzy’s mind tried to process what had happened in a panicked blur. She had accidentally bit down harder than she had intended. She could taste oil again, but couldn’t immediately tell if it was V’s or her own. Had V’s casing cracked, or had she broken her teeth? She wasn’t sure which option mortified her more.
