It's a spectacular course unlike any other in the world, fusing Japan's good old history with the energy of a cutting-edge modern city.
This race also serves as a selection competition for Japan's top runners, who aim to compete on the world stage, making it a stage for serious competition.
The 42.195km course starts at Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building, passes through the Imperial Palace, Asakusa Kaminarimon, and the glamorous streets of Ginza, and finishes on the historic Gyoko-dori Street in front of Tokyo Station.
