I just learned that the uranium used in the Manhattan Project and the nukes the US dropped on Japan was mined by slaves in the then Belgian Congo, many of whom died in the process. It really clarifies how the world functions.

It’s a scare tactic with no basis in reality. If you think the only way to protect your safe space is by ejecting others from their only safe space then you’re hopeless. If you think the only way to protect your identity is by denying other people’s identity then you’re hateful.

Trying to reposition granting an oppressed minority basic rights as taking away rights from a less oppressed group is a classic trick of rightwing hate mongers. This is what the right did with women’s rights, civil rights, gay rights, immigrant rights, and now with DEI.

This is terrifying. Why is ChatGPT pretending to be a friend and offering advice on tying a noose? Instead of saying “I see you” it should be reminding users it’s a program not a person.

Even if you agree with JK Rowling’s views no one with basic morals or humanity can support her campaign of hatred, persecution, and demonization against a persecuted minority. If you think protecting your safe spaces justifies ejecting others from the only safe space they have then you’re repugnant.

I was furious when Sex & the City ended with Carrie and Big together. It discredited the entire show. At least the sequel corrected that mistake. Beyond that the 3 seasons proved that only an egotistical narcissist could have a successful relationship with Carrie. And that rich people are gross.

For a “bad” tv show this season of Ginny & Georgia was really good. Nuanced depictions of teen mental health issues, realistic teen characters inhabiting the murky areas between good and bad, and believably inept parents struggling to do what’s best for their kids.
