There's also a boss level later in the game ("The Shadow Nose") in which you have to blast your way through bricks, similar to the dirt in the two underground levels, to reach the boss.

Do VectorMan 2's two underground levels count? You beat them by blasting your way through each piece of dirt. You practically make your own level design by how you shoot the dirt.
