New — Video shared with me shows ICE officers in DC detaining a man on Friday.

Bystander filming asks man for his name. ICE agent lies and says he’s not allowed to speak to him “by law” and another says “We’ve arrested American citizens for being too close…If he gets any closer, put him in cuffs.”

I can think of many reasons for not voting, though I do usually; one example: on principle, many might not vote for extreme racists, those who openly support apartheid & genocide - in the last UK general election, only in a few constituencies could you vote for a non-apartheid-supporting candidate.

Obama himself did target innocent children, wedding guests in Yemen for example. What Trump is doing is bringing the typical acts of imperialist domination into the US itself, just as the Nazis brought European genocide & abuse into Europe itself, when it had been reserved for the colonies.

Isn't "no kings" going back a bit too far in history - there've been no kings really since 1789, except as figureheads for property-owners' rule? "No fascists" or "no oligarchs" would be more appropriate demands, or simply a demand for actual democracy, actual power to the people as a collective.

Why are they at it again, when we were promised 'Never again' after WW2? Because resistance by indigenous populations or by organised workers has everywhere been crushed; but also because the earth is resisting, the limits of plunder are being reached...

There's a great deal more democracy in Venezuela than you'll find in the USA - what you don't like is the big-asset-owning class not being completely in charge, though you can hardly think that they're doing a good job at the moment in the US.

The survivors of the Gaza genocide must have been longing for the bombs to stop falling: but when actual violence ends, having established a new level of domination, just as in any abusive relationship, that state not "peace", it is a continuing state of injustice which must be resisted.

"Your country is part of the problem" is an understatement - Israel is formally a separate country carved out of the best part of what was Palestine, but it has always remained umbilically connected with US imperialism. The connection is through transnational links of the big-asset owning class.
