I took this snapshot on a rainy night in Church St just before Christmas 1980. You can see the bubble lamps. I remember the strange atmosphere in the few weeks leading up to Christmas that year and John Lennon songs playing all over town.

I worked in nearby Colquitt St in 1986 on a Government scheme. Each Friday afternoon they'd give us 2 hours off to go to the job centre to seek more permanent work which of course we did....see above! 😉🍺

I remember these from the early 70s! External mic by the radio speaker, lightning fast reflexes to stop the recording before the DJ spoke and my dog providing backing vocals on many a track! 😄
