Even if it helped reduce severity (it can't in well-nourished populations), if you don't ensure everyone else gets them and don't vaccinate against you getting and spreading a bug, it's antisocial behavior, as you imply

Underdiagnosis is v common

Many have confirmed diagnoses that aren't coded in GP records

There's much unmet need eg hypertension

It's complex

Classic 'overdiagnosis' (O/d) relates to over-officious screening which can label people with conditions that they are never going be harmed by

O/d by medics as recording say ME when it isn't there is less likely, as most Drs are hesitant in coding these less well-defined illnesses
