I'll be arriving in New York tomorrow morning in a much different post-election situation than when I arrived last year the day after an election.
It was great to revisit the terrific touring production of "Stereophonic" and how the Bay Area is a central figure in the story. Easter eggs galore for those who embrace this region. My review of the show for @kqedarts.bsky.social, runs through 11/23 at the Curran. #hellatheatre
Review: ‘Stereophonic’ Finally Returns to Its Spiritual Home in the Bay Area | KQED
Set in Sausalito, the play about a band’s fraught recording session in the 1970s has Bay Area vibes galore.

Hmmm...
If you are able to see Bat Boy at City Center, do yourself a favor and see it. A gorgeous production of one of my all-time favorite musicals.
New theater space debut. On the job for the @mercurynews.com. world premiere at TheatreWorks. #hellatheatre
Loved the Broadway production of #Stereophonic - the tour in SF, fitting our region like a glove, is outstanding. I was fortunate to speak w/ Arcade Fire's Will Butler and Benicia native Cornelius McMoyler for the @mercurynews.com about the tour at the Curran, thru 9/23. #hellatheatre (gift article)

Every once in a while, there are shows you just need. One of those I will see next week. But last week, I saw the phenomenal #Suffs in #SanFrancisco. My review of the show for the @mercurynews.com, which spends another week in the Bay, through 11/9. #hellatheatre www.mercurynews.com/2025/10/28/r...

I had a convo with the NY Times theater reporter when it was at Playwrights Horizons, and he said I had to see it. No tickets left, so caught it on Broadway a year later. Let me know your thoughts!
Thrilled to revisit this one, loved it in NY. On the job for @kqedarts.bsky.social #hellatheatre
Got it next Friday. So hyped!!! I have heard nothing bad about it. I can use this show right now.
Soooo hyped. Hey @amandafinn.bsky.social, you ready for Next Friday night????!!! #Liberation
Those who loved JOHN PROCTOR IS THE VILLAIN or EUREKA DAY should buy a ticket to LIBERATION. If you love great playwriting that is cathartic, speaks deeply to the present moment and our collective unease, but also doesn’t pretend to have answers….support LIBERATION and great storytelling
Oh my, 100 percent yes. There is such ferocity and balm in those luscious harmonies. Soooo what is needed right now.
Yeah, we kinda need this one right now, though I would have preferred to see this when I was in NYC in Nov of '25, the day after a certain election 😭😭😭. On the job for the @mercurynews.com. #hellatheatre
You look stunning, Soraya! Keep on winning the day!
Trying to nail down some shows in November, please post your thoughts! It looks really good.
Ready for Durand Jones and the Indications in #Oakland!
Sadly, it's not, because THAT would have made me cool. 😂
Since the Padres are my adopted team, it feels good to see him in the playoffs. Will always be grateful to him for flexing the Oakland after the Coliseum's last out.
😍🥰👍
Your review convinced me to go see it!
Heeeeyyyyy!!!!! When my sister went to see it again after she plus-oned with me, they made me a video thanking me for the review. Glad you made it out and loved this piece you wrote!
Love that this transformative show is getting all the pearls. Blew me away at every turn.
"Our lot in life is not to be on the front lines of a protest. This is our contribution to all that. We’re hoping out of the 300 people that are seeing it every night, somebody is a little bit changed by what they heard." I talked to the creators/performers of Mexodus, the fantastic new musical
Mexodus Has Been Called 'The Next Hamilton.' Its Creators Don't Mind the Comparison
Nygel D. Robinson and Brian Quijada's musical features history and hip-hop, but it’s also an entirely original and innovative creation.

Coolest thing ever - my quote in front of Audible's Minetta Lane Theatre. Love seeing this show kicking all the ass in New York, we were so lucky to have it in Berkeley. #geniusinmotion #offBroadway
