It wasn't a big space. Just a corner with a bean bag chair and a area rug.
However, I have sent plenty of students on "fake" errands to another teacher with a note that said, "they just need some time/space" to give them space and time to breathe!

A6: I had a “Zen Zone” in my classroom to support students when they needed a place to find their center again. (I never got with "Calming Corner" because telling someone to "calm down" rarely works!😂)

Usually we talk about how our brain is a muscle that we have to train to become stronger or how challenges are like climbing a mountain (we usually talk about this one after a trip to climb Stone Mountain outside of Atlanta).
