There was a four episode documentary on PBS a few months ago with Scottish actor Alan Cumming travelling on the train and highlighting various spots along the way. It was fun. The train and journey were gorgeous.

One final comment. Gotta give the Mariners pitchers props tonight. They were beating the Jays who had nothing going and going into the 7th you could feel the crowd losing hope. Then Springer got a great swing after struggling all night with his knee. One pitch. The game was that close.

I love T-Mobile Park, haven’t been to a game at the football stadium. I’ve only gone to a Seahawks game once but that was when they were still in the Kingdome. The new one looks nice though.

There are so many stories, like Lukes and the others who were grinding it out for years in the minors but got a shot to play regularly this year. Or Don Mattingly, after his long career as a player and a coach, going to the WS for the first time. The interviews tonight have been incredible.

Grrrr…1981. I was listening to the game at school with a transistor radio and an ear piece. I was in English and supposed to be reading something. When Monday hit the series winning HR, I dropped a loud f-bomb. Probably the only kid in Alberta school history to be sent home because of the Expos

I think this photo just put to rest a story I was told when I moved to A’dam in 1989. I was told that the statue had looked towards the square & Rembrandtplein but had been turned around to face the canal after the bars and strip joint opened in the 60s. His descendants felt it was demeaning.
