Migrant Hawker and Common Darter seen near Severn Beach, South Gloucestershire. Getting late in the year now, and these are the only two species I have seen recently. (10.10.25) #odonata #dragonfly #ukwildlife

So first, a Grey Heron with a lovely bendy neck at Woorgreens, Forest of Dean. Second is a Little Egret somewhat excited at the prospect of a tasty snack at Magor Marsh, South Wales! (Aug.25) #UKWildlife #Birds @robcrank68.bsky.social

Thanks - one of those moments when you're in the right place at the right time, as the juvenile stretched it's wings. 🙂

I'm pleased you like the pictures. But, Rob set the theme for the day, and the pictures are mine 📷🐤👍🙂

Thanks. They just made me smile as I was rummaging through some pictures to post for today's theme! :)

Rob's #BirdOfTheDay is the 'Family Paridae of Birds,' which includes 'Tits'

Blue Tit - all spruced up for the mating game, then the youngsters come along..... and life becomes a little more hectic!

This was unexpected! Some fleeting views of a pair of Green Woodpecker at New Pill Gout, just south of Severn Beach. Only one lingered close enough and long enough for a photo! (10.10.25) #ukbirding #ukwildlife @bristolbirding.bsky.social

Beat me to it! I wandered there this morning, also saw a couple of Rock Pipit and several Wheatear - oh, and a pair of Green Woodpeck at New Pill Gout. 🙂
