This, as well as Mario and Luigi's colour changes are references to "The Super Mario Bros. Super Show!" where Elvira made guest appearances.

Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection does not make use of AI upscaled or generated art. The fully 3D assets can be seen in the game's main menu animation. These were rendered out in 2D for the scrolling backgrounds seen in the timelines and other areas.

Fantasy is a conversion kit for Bally’s 1981 game Centaur. The kit contained new art and a new backglass, including a fake static lit zero at the end of the score display to make scores appear higher.

There is a wonderful video on what was probably the inspiration for this book and its link to The Elder Scrolls.

Also I think Vimes accepted his "power" as the de-facto ruler of this country area. Once he realized that he had the power he used it.
