I suspect this is also true for music-based intervention applications. Certainly, there is an opportunity for investigation.

In addition to her talk on the effect of rhythmic layering on mental imagery, @cerenayyildiz.bsky.social from the SMMBL also contributed a poster showing compelling interactions between musical micro variations and individual absorption tendencies on mental imagery #icmpc18 #musicscience

Funding for this study is listed under Acknowledgements. While it doesn’t list the specific amount, it does reference an U01 grant from NIH. Additional information can be found on NIH Reporter.

Yes - a very promising, early study. Much more work needs to be done.

My point is that I have seen multiple people saying study sections are not happening, which is not entirely true. I get that the situation is awful (I have an Y2 NOA that is stuck in this system). But I do think there is some activity starting back up.

I was also on a study section two weeks ago (that happened).

I am on study section this week.

DOGE says they are saving 4 billion, but...

➡️ Every dollar in NIH research grants generates $2.46 in economic activity ($93 billion in 2023!)
➡️ The $1.7 trillion US biotech industry depends on public-funded science
➡️ Both of those fund a $57 billion US market for scientific tools and equipment
America will pay dearly for the NIH’s mindless war on wokeness and DEI
Colleges, businesses, patients, students, workers, and US excellence will all suffer—and for what?

I am in 3 study sections in the next couple of months. As of right now, those meetings are still on my calendar.
