I am in my 70s, and I agree about the strength and resilience of young people. But it’s a bit unfair to paint any age group into a huge political & social box. It isn’t just age that causes people to avoid facing the truth about Trump.

Respectfully disagree. We farm land that’s been in the family since TX was a republic. My neighbors weren’t lied to. They simply agreed with their preachers that Trump’s agenda against “those people” was worth it. Their hatred decided their votes.

What worries me is how school taxes in Texas keep going down as the state pushes vouchers & for profit charter schools. Mine went from $2,400 in 2002 to $14 this year for as the taxable value doubled. Greg Abbott wants to control “failing” schools. So he is making them fail.

Our little herd grows a bit each summer. Mama buffalo is Aiyana (Forever Flower) and her daughter is Shysie (Quiet Little One). We have a dozen, but Shysie & a male named Dyani will be going to live on a reserve in Oklahoma next spring.

My family uses both Parkland and UTSouthwestern. I have never seen a difference in the level of care between the two - but the valet parking at UTSouthwestern is faster and better staffed than the ones at Parkland.

Many thrift stores destroy donated items with political slogans on them, as do non-profit clothes closets. The reason is simple: 501C3 charities are prohibited by law from endorsing political candidates and selling campaign merchandise could cost them their tax-free status.

To evangelicals, the 7 deadly sins are a Catholic idea. Evangelicals espouse what they call salvation by grace - meaning it doesn’t matter what you do as long as you “accept Jesus as your personal savior.” So Trump qualifies if he once says the right phrase, no matter what he does before or after.

There are 65 wells quietly and cleanly pumping oil & natural gas within the bounds of our tree farm. Some are over 100 years old. The wind turbines and solar farms don’t bother me, and neither does life near the horse head wells. We definitely need renewable energy.
