In recent days, the agreement to begin the peace process has brought a spark of hope to the Holy Land. I encourage the parties involved to continue courageously along the path that has been set out, toward a just, lasting, and respectful #Peace 1/3

I renew my appeal to put an end to the violence, to stop the destruction, and to open hearts to dialogue and #Peace! 2/2

I follow with sorrow the news of new, violent attacks that have struck several cities and civilian infrastructure in #Ukraine, causing the deaths of innocent people, including children. My heart joins in the suffering of the population, which for years has lived in anguish and deprivation. 1/2

Marian spirituality is at the service of the Gospel: it reveals its simplicity. Our affection for Mary of Nazareth leads us to join her in becoming disciples of Jesus. It teaches us to return to him and to meditate & ponder the events of our lives in which the Risen One still comes to us & calls us.

Together with Mary, the Mother of Jesus, let us persevere tirelessly in praying for peace, a God-given gift that we must strive to receive and to which we must make a strong commitment. #PrayTogether #Jubilee2025

Let's look to the Mother of Jesus and the small group of courageous women at the foot of the cross. May we learn from them to stand beside the countless crosses of the world, where Christ is still crucified in his brothers and sisters, in order to bring them comfort, communion and help. #Jubilee2025

#Peace is unarmed and disarming. It is not deterrence, but fraternity; it is not an ultimatum, but dialogue. Peace will not come as the result of victories over the enemy, but as the fruit of sowing justice and courageous forgiveness.

In hearing the cry of the poor, we are asked to enter into the heart of God, who is always concerned for the needs of his children, especially those in greatest need. #DilexiTe

Those who suffer know how great even a small gesture of affection can be, and how much relief it can bring. No sign of affection, even the smallest, will ever be forgotten by the Lord, especially if it is shown to those who are suffering, lonely, or in need. #DilexiTe

Every man and woman of our time has a deep need for hope and peace dwelling in their heart. Consecrated men and women can be messengers of harmony through words and example, as people who bear within yourselves, by the grace of God, the mark of reconciliation and unity. #JubileeofConsecratedLife

Every human being carries within his or her heart a profound longing for truth, for meaning, and for communion with others and with God. This yearning rises from the depths of our being. For this reason, the right to religious freedom is not optional but essential.

“To knock” is to ask for and to offer the gifts we have received to our brothers and sisters with a chaste heart, striving to love everyone with respect and generosity. #JubileeOfConsecratedLife

“To seek” is to open oneself, through obedience, to discovering each day the path we must take on the journey towards holiness, following God’s plans. 2/3

“Ask, and it will be given you; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened for you” (Lk 11:9). “To ask,” in fact, is to recognize, through poverty, that everything is a gift from the Lord and to give thanks for it. 1/3

Doing the work of a journalist can never be considered a crime, but it is a right that must be protected. Free access to information is a pillar that upholds the edifice of our societies, and for this reason, we are called to defend and guarantee it.

The Risen Lord walks alongside each of us, as we journey every day. With infinite care, he asks to let Him warm our hearts. He waits patiently for the moment when our eyes will open to see His friendly face, so He can transform our resignation into hope. #GeneralAudience

However distant, lost or unworthy we may feel, there is no distance that can extinguish the power of God’s love. #GeneralAudience

Christ’s resurrection teaches us that no story is ever so marked by disappointment or sin that it cannot be visited by hope. No fall is definitive, no night is eternal, no wound is destined to bleed forever. 1/

We will celebrate the next World Youth Day on 23 November, Solemnity of Christ the King, under the theme: “You also are my witnesses, because you have been with me” (Jn 15:27). As pilgrims of hope and by the power of the Holy Spirit, let us prepare ourselves to become courageous witnesses to Christ.

This October, as we contemplate with Mary the mysteries of Christ our Savior, let us deepen our prayer for peace, which should become concrete solidarity with people tormented by war. I thank the many children around the world who are praying the #HolyRosary for this intention.
