For better or worse, the saturday morning staff at the bagel place greet me by name now.
The logical result of getting a saturday morning bagel 16 weeks in a row, I suppose.

You ever think “why isn’t Puzzle Bobble more violent and disruptive?”? Well, Azumanga Daioh Puzzle Bobble has your back

In spite of being based off the slice of life series, you can do some real mean spirited things with the ability to shoot into your opponents playfield

You ever play Puyo and go “wow, these little blob guys don’t hug each other enough”?. Well, Deroon Dero Dero has you covered, with pieces reaching across the board for mind bending chain theory

Plus there’s a burst. That’s always neat

Wretched creature give me strength in this VSP bracket
Watching through umamusume’s anime as part of book club and it’s kinda funny to learn that S1 and S2 have just been dramatizations of the irl horses’ racing careers.

TL;DR, don’t look the real life horses up if you care about spoilers lol
My brain automatically parsing “vanquisher” as orange rank in Tekken makes all of these rank brag posts incredibly funny
And I think this nicely accounts for why genre/series diehards tend to get so upset with games that stray really far from the “standard” level of difficulty despite cases where it leads to critical acclaim or financial success (i.e. the games are “good” by any other metric)
In the wake of MH Wilds, I was musing with some friends that, at their core, games are just a mechanism to provide friction between a player and an endstate, and almost every gameplay flaw boils down to straying too far from the amount of friction a player expects.
Despite not playing (or really even following) the game, I find myself oddly invested in the upcoming Strive patchnotes.
There’s a VSp regular who smokes everybody with Suija. He’s probably won more of the weeklies than anyone else at this point. This character is a menace.

Called @ratttz.bsky.social with the plan of quickly recording some gameplay footage for our Puzzle Touchdown pitch deck, but we ended up playing for an hour because the game rocks.

I present to you 90 seconds of absolute IPTD nonsense.

I love that the only time it remembers how to save window sizes is when you misclick and make it some awful, unusable aspect ratio on accident
No, it’s the CGDCT anime about Bowling
Okay, Turkey might actually be one of the most unhinged anime to air in years
I threw something like a 3W and found:
(3) 1 woods
(3) 5 irons
(2) 8 Irons

Hole is a lot like Japan 16 if it had a huge thorn bush on one side of the first hill. Whether you lay up or run it, it’s in the way, but apparently I’m the only person silly enough to actually go into it for a lost disc lol
Discs have drastically different flight characteristics based on the rim shape and type of plastic, so while I did find some cool stuff, I’m still gonna have to replace the one I lost. 😞
Got greedy on a drive and threw one of my discs into a thick ass bramble bush. 45 minutes of crawling around through thorns later, I emerged with 8 discs, none of which were the one I lost.
I wonder if it will be an entry point, or if it will be like multiversus where it developed its own self-contained scene that completely evaporated back into the void upon end of service.
Still blows my mind that the game isn’t out yet lol. I can’t picture it having a particularly impressive launch given how awful the rollout is shaping up to be, but I also wouldn’t be surprised if it has weird penetration into an untapped non-fgc playerbase.
Only time will tell I guess.
Chasing an episode of “Catch Me at the Ballpark” with my first episode of “Ruri Rocks” and getting culture shock from the absolute opposite ends of the animation quality spectrum.
I can kinda see how people could could rationalize into an irrational stance if they’re struggling to reconcile a vigilance against dark/edgy humor/topics being used to launder bigotry in fandom spaces and a surface level grasp of what “problematic media” is against the fact that it is just fiction.
Ooh, this one’s good too!
Can’t make it to EVO this year unfortunately, but I’d definitely grab both of them if I get the chance.
