My issue seems to stem from the fact my boot drive does not have the System flag on it for some reason, so I can't convert it from MBR to GPT to enable Secure Boot. And I was going way too far down the rabbit hole looking for solutions last night that it just isn't worth it for me to try :/

If all I was doing was gaming on this thing I'd just switch to Linux and be done with it.

But it's more of a music production machine these days and while Linux has made great strides in gaming support, music production support is still sorely lacking.

This PC is almost 7 years old now. I've updated the hardware but W10 is the original install. And in that time I've accumulated a TON of software for my music, many with registration codes and processes that I'd rather not have to fudge with a second time but it seems that's unavoidable. *le sigh*

Well, now that I've calmed from the stress of nearly bricking my PC. I suppose a fresh install of 11 isn't the end of the world when I'm considering packing everything up and changing ecosystems entirely over this.

It's just a hassle I've REALLY been trying to avoid.

I fucking hate Windows 11.

Turns out, despite meeting all hardware requirements to update to 11, I can't enable Secure Boot even though the hardware supports it, which means I'm basically SoL.

Seriously fuck Microsoft for this. I'm buying a Mac and moving all of my music and video production there

So today I finished the lyrics for my Miku Expo contest entry!

The only thing is that's ALL I have done for this song so far and the deadline is a week from today 😅 I'm still gonna try but I'm not gonna rush either! Will save this one for next year if I have to, I'm proud of these lyrics!

Halo 4 came out on my brother's birthday. We went to the midnight release then came home and played through 90% of the campaign co-op together before finally falling asleep.

Little did we know that was the last time we'd be able to do something like that with a new Halo game.

They should at least have a PC and/or console port. Part of the reason games like Genshin and Star Rail have had so much staying power is because they offer a more traditional platform experience as well as the mobile versions
