Just back from our fantastic Reflection Day on Generosity for Readers + Lay Leaders from across @ncldiocese.bsky.social. What a great time we had in an informal and relaxed atmosphere. Thanks to those who braved the forecast storms to be with us, and of course St Mary's Church for hosting us
Busy weekend to start @ncldiocese.bsky.social Generosity Week. Churchwardens yesterday sharing on devotional giving. Byker today, first St Silas then St Michaels, talking from 1 Timothy on not putting our hope in wealth and fleeing from those values. Huge thanks Revs Helen & Phil for Byker invites.
Great to be at Warkworth + Acklington @ncldiocese.bsky.social today sharing thoughts on how to be sure we're not sub-consciously serving 2 masters. Our attitude to giving is a big clue. Loved choir from Manchester at Warkworth. Thanks to Rev Helen for invite & to both congregations for warm welcome

At St Cuthberts today, parish of Beltingham with Henshaw @ncldiocese.bsky.social sharing on folly of trying to serve 2 masters. How helpful of Jesus to remind us it simply can’t be done. Only a few of us left for the photo after I'd finished chatting, but great welcome + thanks Rev Steve for invite.
Great time @ St Helen/s Whitley Chapel @ncldiocese.bsky.social today sharing thoughts on Psalm 8. Being created so closely in the image of God who himself is so generous means we’re designed to be generous too. Thanks to Revd Andrew for the invitation, and for the warm welcome from everyone.
Next Sunday 15 June is a great day to preach on generosity - Psalm 8 reading shows we're created in God's image. As God is overwhelmingly generous, it's what we're designed to be too! Sermon plan at bit.ly/48CCGiv + pre-recorded sermon youtube.com/watch/v5xtoq.... @ncldiocese.bsky.social

Great welcome at St Aidan’s Brunton Pk @ncldiocese.bsky.social today, sharing how generous God is to each of us, and why, once we really understand that, our natural response, like Zacchaeus, is to want to give back to Him. Thanks all for the kind words afterwards and to Rev Gerard for inviting me.
Delighted to be at Byker & Walkergate @ncldiocese.bsky.social today, exploring what it means to be created in the image of an overwhelmingly generous God. After coffee at St Martins I got to St Oswalds just in time. Thanks both congregations for warm welcome and to Revd Tim for invite.

It was great to be part of this. I do recommend Cornerstone platform for Churches in @ncldiocese.bsky.social who want a better handle on their finances - strengths + vulnerabilities, with the amazing library of guided pathways for developing in those areas that Churches choose.
What a great day we had yesterday! We were delighted to welcome to Church House teams from 16 parishes who gathered to spend time exploring the new Cornerstone platform and decide together on individual pathways to work on in small groups over the coming weeks. Huge thanks to everyone who took part.
3 years this weekend since I joined Generous Giving Team @ncldiocese.bsky.social. So quick note of thanks to everyone who’s supported me and to all the inspiring people I’ve met along the way. Hoping some of my input and insights have helped us in responding more deeply to our generous God

Great to be at Newburn and Throckley last Sunday, another chance to share some thoughts about responding to God's outstanding generosity to us and our natural response to that. Thanks for warm welcome from both congregations & to Rev Allison for inviting me
