Yeah I know. I'm watching ABC news and they just referred to them as layoffs and furloughs. I used to adjudicate unemployment claims for my state and there's a big difference between layoffs and firings. They have a better chance of being called back to work from a layoff than a firing. RIF means reduction in force. These are layoffs not firings. I think the media gets this wrong in some reports. Firing them would require that the government show that they were terminated for willful misconduct. Which isn't the case.

My dad fought in WW2. He was a democrat till the end and so am I. I don't have children but 2 of my millennial nieces and their husbands are MAGAs. My GEN X niece is very liberal. Age has no bearing on how much someone is willing to fight for our country and what it stands for.

Reminds me of my visit to the Ybor City historical district in Tampa FL. Honors immigrants who came to the area in the late 1800s.
