Oh yeah and how could I forget that they ended up pushing features onto people with Copilot and etc.
Though never had to deal with that since I switched over to Linux right before 11 got leaked.

Right now I'm having to use my deck and it keeps fucking with things in desktop mode. Even after I pinned my browser it keeps replacing it with Firefox despite removing it.

I will keep saying this, SteamOS will not be a good desktop general use Distro. Stop waiting for that unless you plan to make like a game console setup where the only thing you do on it is to play games.

They also introduced having to sign into Microsoft accounts though with the easy way of unplugging your Ethernet during install.

No I have plenty of beef with 10, I'd rather use Vista.

10 wasn't that great, it was better than 8 for sure, but a lot of people got used to 10.
Main reason was Telemetry being introduced alongside having reccomended apps to install in the menu and the overall changes to settings.
I feel like it was true prior, but we have new hands over at M$.

If all the software that you want to run is on Flatpaks, sure go ahead. But package managers typically have even more software that's on Linux cause not everything is on Flatpaks or vice versa. Its good to have both.

Pretty much SteamOS is more like KDE Neon which is a KDE Distro but built on Arch Linux.

To the people who keeps saying they're waiting for SteamOS to drop, You have no idea that your wasting your time and your better off installing Fedora KDE Spin instead or Linux Mint.

Okay so I used my steam deck as a desktop because I'm totally fucked out of a desktop PC ATM.

I do not reccomend SteamOS as your first distro since you will only be able to have Flatpaks and Flatpaks only rather than also having system packages.
