This time in the pool at the World Cup in Camel, Indiana — Canada’s Ilya Kharun wins gold in the 200m butterfly tonight.

This comes a night after he broke the Canadian record in the 100m fly. A reminder this is a short course 25m meet.

That’s a wrap on day one of the World Tour short track speed skating.

A crowd of 1750 fans watched Canadians win two gold and two bronze medals here at Maurice Richard Arena.

Back at it tomorrow for the conclusion of the opening weekend of short track speed skating.

This high-powered short track speed skating team begins its pursuit of glory here at the World Tour.

Canada won 37 medals on the tour last season. 21 of the 37 medals were golden.

Off to Montreal this weekend for short track speed skating coverage. Then directly to Nisku, Alberta for Grand Slam of Curling.

Won’t make it to any ALCS games in Toronto unless it gets to a Game 7… which is equal parts fun/terrifying
