Nobody is denying that. But a lot of that is also due to the regression in the team that followed. The Aaron Boone HR is a lot less painful for Red Sox fans in retrospect because they won the WS the very next year.

OK I lived those too. But neither really compared to this game. Calgary game was a pedestrian loss. And in 81 the Expos offense did nothing all game, while Jays had chances to add runs in almost every inning, and also had a late lead, so that makes it hurt more.

Sports can be fickle. Who knows if the Jays will make it back given the roster changes bound to happen. They really caught lightning in a bottle this year. Time will tell.

It doesn't matter if it's 3-1 or 3-2 because in the 9th inning the only thing that matters is where is the tying run. (In the 8th inning it would be a different story)
