10 October 1935: SEINE-NET FISHING WITHIN LIMIT OFF PORTKNOCKIE Two Cullen fishermen, Geo. Gardiner, Victoria Street , skipper, Procure,and Joseph Mowat, Seatown, skipper of the motor boat Quest, were each fined £5 for seine-net fishing in the Moray Firth within the three-mile limit off Portknockie.

9 October 1899: TOWN COUNCIL Mr Seivwright moved that the Streets and Roads Committee be instructed to make enquiry regarding the practicality of planting trees along the road from Seafield Place to the cemetery, also from the Public School to the Toll Bar. This was seconded by Mr Kier, & agreed to.

The Expedient had been run into the day before by the barque Magnus Lagaboter, of Christiania, and all the crew except a boy, Adam Adamson, jumped onto the barque. Another Cullen boat, the Radiance, came to his help - however neither boat was able to return to shore.

5 October 1907: REGISTRATION RETURNS For the quarter ending 30th ult. There were registered in Cullen district 10 births (6 males, 4 females), 6 deaths (3 males, 3 females) and two marriages. Of those who died, three were 84, 85 and 87 years respectively. #OnThisDay
