And yes, it is precisely THIS kind of culture that lends to the idea of your teenage kid being your "accountability partner" on an app that takes screenshots and sends it to said "accountability partner" if you so much as open up Pornhub (or, god forbid, LGBTQIA+ friendly sites).

One reason that there is a much higher percentage of teenage runaways/"throwaways" who are LGBTQIA+ (compared to the average population even in more tolerant areas where it's safer to be out) is because they've had to either flee or have been kicked out of Christian Nationalist homes

One reason teenage kids are "rehomed" in unofficial (and generally illegal) "readoptions" is because that kid was found to be LGBTQIA+; one of the more common reasons kids end up in the "troubled teen" industry is they're found to be LGBTQIA+ (most facilities do "conversion therapy")

And yes, this is in fact why Mike Johnson's wife also pushes groups promoting "conversion therapy", because anyone who has the distinct misfortune of being LGBTQIA+ within a Christian Nationalist household gets subjected to incredible amounts of abuse at home, at church, and institutionally

And yes, you may in fact already be picking up that there is a real emphasis on toxic masculinity in Christian Nationalist circles of this sort, and that there is an *extreme* paranoia that one's kids might Catch The Gay (yes, the entire LGBTQIA+ spectrum is lumped into being gay by them)

Meanwhile, the boy's father has to do his part. He needs to mirror and affirm his son's maleness. Needless to say, there is an extreme phobia among the Christian Nationalist right that a kid might grow up as LGBTQIA, and this often subjects any kid who has the misfortune of growing up in a Christian Nationalist household to being abused by his parents, his clergy, subjected to actual institutional abuse (via the "troubled teen" industry--most of which also practice "conversion therapy"), and--yes--being subjected to spyware installation, though usually not in the form of being asked to be an "accountability partner" with one's dad

(The "Form 990 Loophole" Is a rule that only applies to ministries and churches, and allows these groups to almost entirely hide finances--churches are not required to file any documents with the IRS other than their say-so they're a church. You can blame $cient0logy for that one.)

(It's also notable that around 2007--right around the time that you had some of the first DEDICATED counter-Christian-Nationalist activism, and people started looking into their Form 990 statements--FotF reorganized as a ministry and started using the "Form 990 Loophole" to hide finances.)

Notably: Dobson's also the individual responsible for Alliance Defending Freedom; it, CitizenLink, and Family Research Council *all* started off as Focus on the Family sub-groups, and split off when FotF was twice threatened with the loss of their tax-exempt status for illegal lobbying

So one of Gothard's IBLP guides is for victims of sexual abuse (including child sexual abuse), and AFAB people who are sexually abused are uniformly blamed for their abuse for having "tempted" the predator who abused them.

An example of this in practice--and this is why I describe it as "groomer behavior"--is with Bill Gothard (who has been reliably accused of the serial sexual predation of over 50 women, many of them minors at the time of abuse, and yes, this is important for context of what I'll describe)

And so this leads to a lot of frankly bizarre and groomer-esque/groomer-adjacent behavior targeting both perceived genders (no, they do not acknowledge the existence of asexual people other than "eunuchs", genderfluid and nonbinary people are literally seen as abominations as are trans ppl)

And there is also an *extremely* sharp division of gender roles in these same groups (as in "in an ideal household women shouldn't work outside the home at all or manage family finances, *at best* they should do work-at-home-mom jobs with an MLM or selling goods catering to stay-at-home moms")

So for context it should be understood that NAR Christian Nationalist circles are among *the* most intolerant of LGBTQIA people in the world (literally *Iran* is more tolerant; the group I grew up in was actively jealous of Da'esh/ISIL for actively killing LGBTQIA people & sought to emulate)
