The annexed areas were more red, but they tended to not be strong supporters of the mayoral winner. In the general election, there were three “republican” candidates - one who was a more MAGA former police chief who has been fired by our current mayor.
As a resident of Mobile, I would also like to say that our mayoral elections are technically nonpartisan and tend to focus more on local issues. Also, the city borders have changed significantly over this time period, so I wouldn’t extrapolate these results to anything national.
When I summered as a 2L at Skadden, they made the summer associates share an office with a mid-level associate. I shared an office with a 5th year in their litigation department who just wrote appeal briefs in insurance cases.

Quickly convinced me that I would rather do IP litigation.
