I got into Greg Bear’s work after reading his Halo novels, which I loved.

I read Blood Music last month and I loved it.

I think they’ve actually been doing that.

Albeit with forerunner lore. They consider it an infohazard and have been working intensely to keep it far away from the public.

The flood are public knowledge on some level according to Outpost Discovery.

But not their lore or origins.

Yeah.
The whole forerunner lore with the composer and neural physics and so on isn’t public knowledge.

It’s only known by the forerunners, their monitors and other remnants, ONI and a handful outside.

ONI considers it an infohazard. Understandably.

I loved his Halo novels and Blood Music.

I’m planning to read Hegira and then move onto his last novel, The Unfinished Land.

I just read it the other week.
And I’ve just finished its sequel, Darwin’s Children.

I enjoyed them both.

The epilogue to Darwin’s Children nearly broke me.

God I miss Greg Bear! He was a brilliant writer.
