And that way, as you work your way through the actual interview process, those three pillars are always at the back of your mind (want-need-values), reinforcing your points and guiding your responses.

It’s a winning combination.

Have your conclusion written or memorized before you walk in.
Remember three points that you want to reinforce as your final remarks (for example: I’m the one you want; I can help you get to where you need; I believe in you and share your values).

Most interviewees have a list of questions ready (we can talk about that at another time), an idea of how to talk about their resume and challenges, and so on.

But one of the best ways to really make a positive and powerful impression is to start at the end.

t’s something with which I’ve had a lot of experience. And I want to share some of that with others.

There’s one point that came up the other day that I’ve been thinking through and I want to share here.
It’s this:

Start at the end.

I’ve really enjoyed coaching people recently, especially on an under-developed aspect of their careers: how to ace a job interview, especially for nonprofit (and Jewish nonprofit) executive positions.

FDR pop-art.

I've seen versions of his portrait in so many stories of our American lives.

I wanted to keep the shadows & darkness (using the LP record itself without painting), while stylizing the pop-art elements.

During the Ashuri (Assyrian) siege Judith rallies the leadership & decapitates Holofernes with his own sword.

I took the painting by Caravaggio as the basis for my version. I wanted to capture her darkness against her light.

But even her shadows contain shadows.

Last week we observed Yom HaShoah (Holocaust Memorial Day), reminding us of the price of not having a Jewish State.

Tonight we observe Yom HaZikaron (Israel Memorial Day), reminding us of the price of having one.

May all those in need of healing find comfort and love.

I’m so glad, Senator Van Hollen, that you went to El Salvador to demand the release of your constituent, Kilmar Abrego Garcia.

When you get back to DC, can you ask my NJ Senator Andy Kim to do the same for his constituent, Edan Alexander?

They stood up for American values against vile haters outside.

They stood up to protect our Jewish way of life.

They stood up to defend a major Jewish community event.

And they empowered those present to stand strong.

But, in truth, these inspiring men and women, along with our security partners and the outstanding officers of the Teaneck police department, did far more than just protect those who attended the two days-event.

I’m deeply proud of the security volunteers from our CSS, the national Jewish defense and security agency, who stood shift to protect the Aliyah Fair.

“The problem with the lone wolf theory is that there has been wolf after wolf, … We are starting to see a pack emerging.”

I was grateful for this interview and to talk about CSS - Community Security Service and how to keep the community safer.
