(saying this as a fan/person who respects both franchises) i think modern pokemon and sonic pre-sega locking the fuck in have the same general issue going on of having really passionate developers and creatives but being shackled by absolutely Miserable budgets & timeframes

IM SAYING LIKE god its not the biggest grandest pokemon game out there but it just Works . It actually feels like everything from top to bottom in terms of gameplay was polished and it just feels So Good because of it

There was still some of the usual pokemon clunk ™️ in there but it felt very subdued this time round, the game just feels polished in the ways that matter. Getting a very strong 9.1/10 from me

Just beat legends Z-A main story and god. Oh my god. That extra year or two of development not only shows but also shines through. They somehow managed to make a pokemon game that not only succeds at being worth the $60 price tag, but also succeeds at being worth the switch 2's $70 price tag
