What Shura needs isn’t a sensei that would tap her shoulder with a wooden blade if she falls asleep in meditation, or a senior sister that would teach her to do something.

She needs someone that’s at the same level as her, communicating as equals. As partners.

Anyways! By being too absorbed in this role, the division created by Shura is further pulled apart. Their difficult communication (in more ways than one) worsens it. Penelope would realize this with Sara and Amara’s help and headstrong martial artist as she is, vows to change it.

It’s natural for sexual arousal to occur, it’s what allowed us as a species to thrive. Yet Shura felt she did something wrong for feeling that way to Penelope. Her attraction was one thing, getting aroused by her when it was just a simple medical procedure was doubling her further in the closet.
