This game had an earlier start time so no bleary eyes, but I remember is so well. It was a workday and Gameday not a thing. Cab drivers in NYC parked their cars, opened their doors and blasted the radio broadcast so people en route to work meetings could listen for a bit: sabr.org/gamesproj/ga...

Confession: sometime around the 12 inning last night (this morning?) I started wondering whether the extra inning “ghost runner” was such a terrible thing after all. Anyone else?

In reading the (very little) written about this already, I'm a little taken aback by all the public side people saying "build it where we now have a large community college campus? No problem!"

Rays fans, are you watching the postseason even though your team is out? If so, who are you rooting for, why those choices, and how does a Rays fan handle a Boston-NY series? Can both teams lose?

This game reminding me how devastating the Aranda injury was for the Rays' chances of contending.

To be honest I think it's increasingly difficult for teams to go out on a limb the way they have even without the ownership change. But I have admired their willingness to be present for all members of our community.

In addition to the usual "good corporate citizen" giving, the Rays have always punched above their weight on more controversial issues, in particular support for LGBTQ+ community, support for racial justice and statements deploring gun violence. What will come next? www.draysbay.com/editorial-ta...

Trey Yesavage has 9 strikeouts so far, the most by a pitcher in his MLB debut in Blue Jays history

I can't remember when I last saw an outfielder look as awkward as Simpson looks even on the balls he catches

Good thing the Rays got that 1st inning run, it's been nothing but weak contact and wild swings since then

I worried from the crack of the bat that Gray was not making that play

I am sitting in the accessible section and my row looks like this, but the usher just complained because I'm not in my assigned seat
