MacKenzie Scott was taught and mentored by Toni Morrison, who was her professor at Princeton.

Mentoring matters! It is some of the most important work that we do. #ProfessorLife

Why should the judgment of the wealthiest NYers be given deference? Simply b/c the victims of their choices don’t have money & power?
The hundreds of thousands of Black & Latino men who were subjected to stop-and-frisk did not have the option to “leave NYC.” They endured the reign of Bloomberg - the beloved choice of elite New Yorkers - who even supported changing the law to give Bloomberg a 3rd term.

I continue to wonder when Americans will decide enough is enough. As Frederick Douglass reminds us:

“The limits of tyrants are prescribed by the endurance of those whom they oppress.”
Yes! Checking out folks and services now! Let me know!

“W/o urgent, sector-wide reform, the global academic publishing ecosystem is at risk of collapse.
We urge academic institutions to weaken the link b/n academic reward & journal article output, & to adopt holistic approaches to evaluating academic performance.” www.insidehighered.com/news/faculty...

So we’re now paying federal taxes so Donald Trump can withdraw them from the Treasury like it’s his own personal bank account? Really?
🤦🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️ We have lost the plot. This man isn’t even a credible hip-hop critic, so I can’t imagine what he’d have to offer us during these perilous times.

Just a reminder that "en banc" review in the Ninth Circuit is ... unique.

The full court (29 active judges, currently with a 16-13 D-R split) votes on whether or not to rehear a case en banc.

If so, then *10* judges are randomly drawn to sit with Chief Judge Murguia as the "en banc" court.
Lord, I hope the energy on display today spreads and multiplies 1,000-fold in time for midterms, and if necessary, after the Supreme Court fully guts the VRA in June. We need all hands on deck! #NoKings

Section 2 of the 15th Amendment explicitly delegates to Congress the right to decide how to enforce Black voting rights. That's what the text says. And that's the original intent of the framers.

Emerging from the darkness of this era will require us to acknowledge that the previous status quo, including many institutions that may have served us well in another era, have been failing for my entire lifetime.
Sadly, we don’t teach Reconstruction enough!! So many folks remain oblivious to where this country is headed. Buckle up! It won’t be pretty.
