I’m a state employee fully funded by feds. B/c of HOW we’re funded, we *shouldn’t* need to worry abt furloughs. 2 probs:
1) the STATE hasn’t passed budget either, so furloughs b/c of that are still poss
&
2) feds said we can’t do stuff that’s abt 1/3 of job duties. And other 2/3s needs 1st 1/3.

Hour to get everything balanced because we kept repeatedly miscounting things due to exhaustion. I didn’t get home until 1:30am. And had to be back at the office at 7:30.

I used to work front desk at an urgent care center & we had to stay after closing to balance receipts & run nightly reports & the like. This one year was a BAD flu season & the last patient didn’t leave until midnight (I’d been there since 7:30am) & we were so exhausted that it took another

Once I love someone, romantic, familial, friendship, w/e, it takes a lot for that love to go away.

It wasn’t a factor here, but betrayal is absolutely a way to fast track that. Had a guy I thought was a friend try to get a 3p break up me & my bf/husband so he could “hang out with me more”.

Old friend I haven’t interacted with in years, who I thought had broken up with me, so to speak, reached out to me earlier this week. Some things had happened and he was in a bad headspace for a while. We’re going to hang out this weekend.

I missed him, so I’m glad we’re reconnecting.

I work for a state agency that’s fully funded by feds. How it goes is we’re granted a lump sum at start of fiscal year to cover existing costs & get authorized for additional/new ones like hiring people. New fiscal year starts tomorrow. If they follow through w/ shutdown, idk if I get paid or not.

Due to a combination of good genetics and good dental hygiene learned from my dentist dad, I’ve had perfectly healthy teeth my entire life. Today I learned that I need a root canal. Hell of a way to break the streak.

If you could be any level 1 D&D 2024 core class in real life, which would you pick?

Necessary supporting stuff becomes real too, so being a cleric means a god exists to empower you, or being a sorcerer means that whatever your lineage is exists, etc.

So I’m down w/ my 3rd confirmed case of COVID & it’s… weird eating w/o a sense of smell/taste. Everything is just textures. Normally I can’t drink coffee black b/c the bitterness is too much for me & this morning I can *barely* taste it. Last night I had the faintest hint of peanut butter

In the near future the fascists will start a narrative about who deserves to EAT as climate destabilizes agriculture. They will flat-out say that disabled, gay, poor ppl etc are not important to society, consuming more resources than producing thru labor. We are at that point in history.

Again, polling has repeatedly shown that Dems are unpopular because they’re perceived as not standing for anything. No clear unified message.

Everyone deserves dignity.
Everyone deserves to be safe.

…remove the SSA taxes pay cap, tax wealthy out the wazoo, *give the common people what they need.*

Dems need to shoot for the moon & legit try to get sweeping improvements. They’d get support from moderates AND the left, much more than the steady loss of base that they have now

…and let the people in the actual center see the Dems standing for something for once in their goddamn lives & come to us. The Dems need to give full-throated support to leftist/progressive policies, no wishy-washy incrementalism. Push for universal daycare, universal healthcare (not just ins)…
