On this day 6th July 1483 Richard III was crowned King of England in Westminster Abbey.
A man of considerable talent and much controversy. Makes for interesting history.
Definitely one for my reading list!
Today’s Doctoral defence at the Faculty of Arts, @helsinki.fi, with @stockwell.bsky.social as opponent.

The great Charlotte Bronte passed away #otd 1855, aged 38. She was pregnant, and her passing meant the end of the Bronte line. A kind yet fiery and fiercely loyal woman, a genius, there will never be another Charlotte Bronte.
I did receive a few, but this must be on top of the pile this year. (And signed by the author, no less, thanks to @nicolatallis.bsky.social 😊)
Closing the day with most beautiful poetry 📙
Born #otd Emily Brontë, in 1818 — as well as Kate Bush, in 1958, interpreting the spirit of the novel and helping a new generation find the literature anew 📚

Thinking about Anne Boleyn today (d. 19 May 1536). What an unexpected life, and such a powerful legacy🥀👑(image from the National Portrait Gallery).
This was a very interesting discussion – as always! Thank you!
Joskus perjantain voi (melkein kokonaan) omistaa omalle tutkimukselle. Tämä oli sellainen perjantai. 📚 Eli aikajanan hahmottamista vuoden 1619 Lontoon keväässä ja lainausten vertaamista kuningas Jaakon raamatunkäännökseen vuodelta 1611. Oli hyvä päivä. 😊
Closing #WorldPoetryDay with the caressing magic of the timeless power of words. 📚
