Even the preternaturally equanimous Obama in his talk with Marc Maron mentioned...RWANDA.
Massacres in history are usually preceded by years of eliminationist language/rhetoric that reduces specific OTHERS to subhuman level.
I HOPE FATE helps us to avoid this - but the signs are all there.

Am thinking of putting together a thread so people can understand more about Meloni. It is complicated.
She did grow up with fascist ideology, but her support has more to do with the fact that Italy has been a 'colony' of the US for a long time. So it's about power, and who is subordinate to whom.

Far-right in Europe, and especially Italy, is not like current far-right in the US.
Meloni knows well that with the Italian post fascist legacy, armed masked goons in the street = FASCISM. This is what Mussolini did, beating, kidnapping, jailing, disappearing people.
There are other reasons, too.

If you know anything about CULTS, this is not amazing at all. It is TYPICAL.
It is WHATEVER the cult leaders says, whenever he says it. Ask any followers of Jim Jones, Koresh, Hubbard/Miscavige, Charles Manson, all the way up to national cults (Mussolini) and down to smaller ones.
