My latest project is open access and available to the public. I co-founded the Journal of Literacy and Urban Schools with Dr. Alicia Leggett. It took some time to get the journal off the ground. However, we were able to get our first issue out. Our second issue will follow soon.

Policies which limited charges for the disabled and elderly are still available. However, there are going to be families without heat this winter. I advise you find a charity who provides coats and a nonprofit where Nana's are knitting hat sets. You need to winterize your home as well.

2/3 Civil rights activists changed this policy and pushed to make it illegal for such an inhumane business practice to take place. After energy companies began getting traded in the stock market, you started to see this policy change back to the original plan.

1/3 This morning I saw several posts on Threads about families who will not have heat during one of the coldest predicted winters on record. I remember those days. During the 80's, it was legal for companies to cut off your heat during below zero temperatures across the Midwest.

I don't shop at Publix, Target, Wal-mart, Costco, Kroger, Albertson's, and Trader Joe's regularly. These stores are not in my budget this year.

If you are looking for other economical options, try ALDI, Sav-a-lot, Dollar General, and locally-owned stores as well.
