28 Days Later - 10/10 (REWATCH)

so much more impactful now than it was upon release. there's something uniquely terrifying about it over two decades after release. trapped in the hell that was made for us while those who crafted it take advantage of it for evils beyond our understanding.

maybe the key here is that I stop drawing and i shove myself back in the closet and i just focus on my work until i get rich and then maybe i will be allowed to be a human being assuming the earth doesn't explode in that time. or maybe i need to get laid and high and a fulfilling 8 hours of sleep

maybe my real problem is just that i am an emotional nightmare shitshow of a person and i need to be abandoned and left behind by the world so i can learn some independence and stop being such an inconsistent, hatable, talentless hack of a person. i dunno, im just sayin shit

drawing stuff for like signalis and jess drew and life is strange are things i love doing and i derive joy from drawing them period but i'm not gonna lie and say the fact that those things get attention and praise doesn't factor into my overall happiness as an artist

"well engagement isn't as important as just creating things!" well yeah janet i'm well aware and i love the enthusiasm but what can i say? i am a sad, lonely, pathetic, self hating little worm and sometimes it feels nice getting validation for my hard work because that is something i never get.

on top of that i don't want to half-ass this, PLS is my dream project and i love the ideas i have for it and what i'm trying to do with it, but objectively i'm putting in 8 times the effort for a fraction of the payoff and at that point it makes me not even want to post it

like the thing im just going to have to accept is that if i go hard into PLS i will probably be more excited about art in general and also improve wildly as an artist like i did last time i focused so much on it, but it's also going to tank anybody's interest in my art probably forever.

i've kinda had some ideas about how i want to illustrate PLS going forward but i kinda don't really know how to put them into motion or if they're even gonna work. been on my mind a lot because it feels like the only thing i ever want to draw anymore is stuff for PLS, but its such a commitment

The Fantastic Four: First Steps - 8/10

pretty unbelievable that it took us 63 years to get one (1) fantastic four adaptation that loves and understands it's source material but fuckin' A i'll happily take it. helps that it's easily one of the MCU's finest.
