It’s anchored on 8x8 posts at 8 ft deep with concrete the stacked stone’s below the frost line.

Absolutely idiotic idea for a greenhouse due to the whole want it airtight thing but was done prior to our neighbors please help call so 🤷‍♂️

Doing what we can with it

From a build standpoint. Things we have to keep in mind here are keeping the greenhouse area air tight and keeping the bathroom area in a separate envelope so the moisture/humidity from the greenhouse doesn’t rot the bathroom away or grow mold.

All in all cool project with a lot of challenges

While we are running power to the greenhouse they easily could have done it off grid with solar panels I haven’t worked much with sustainable waste management stuff so this has been a lot of fun for me and I’m learning a lot.

That being said it’s an additional element so another pain in the ass

Couple that with a dry stacked stone foundation and well here we are. Because a greenhouse needs to be as airtight as possible all those gaps and holes need to be filled and let me tell ya the amount of caulk used here is insane. Now one of the coolest parts of this build is the inclusion of

In construction will tell you coming in after the fact on a build and making it work is zero fun.

Lots of “why the fuck” and “ oh fuck my life”

That being said our biggest issue was the use of recovered lumber ( lots of holes in it) and used panels ( lots of holes in them

Now some issues with this build. A we came in after the fact to rescue this from some less than knowledgeable student engineers, while well intentioned absolutely no construction experience or greenhouse experience so a lot of this project has been trying to work with what we have and as anyone
