If you’re new here, welcome to one of the better parts of the internet! I’m Earl and I specialize in creating background chatter. Here’s a copy of Psychocandy, a Wawa hoagie, and an FM Towns Marty. If you also like any of these things, there’s a good chance that we’d get along.
An FM Towns Marty game system, a CD copy of Psychocandy by The Jesus and Mary Chain, and a Wawa hoagie, wrapped to go. They sit atop a gold colored tablecloth adorned with a checker pattern. The text atop Marty reads “Marty is a powerful ally with the brains it takes to make 'smart television’ a reality. With Marty, you can experience a marvelous new dimension in intelligent, interactive television performance.”. The sub has an extra portion of spicy mustard, but this is not visible.

It never dawned on me until now that Capcom’s Fighters Edge logo was possibly just using some slightly modified clip art.
An advertisement for Capcom’s Fighters Edge releases of PS1 fighting games. Image credit to retromags.com.

Even as the console seems to be circling the drain, Microsoft would get an instant purchase of a Series X out of me if they gave it full and region free 360 BC. My 360 imports have been languishing on a shelf since my Japanese 360 died.

Layer Section for Saturn is probably one of the best shooters on the system, and remains affordable even after The Great Saturn Land Rush. Every time I play it, I’m happy I took that guy on AtariAge up on his bundle offer in 2009.

I ended up looking up copycat recipes after posting that because I want to give it a shot as an adult. Then I was advertised this pin as if the internet itself wanted me to try and recreate the burger in question.
An eBay listing for a pin promoting McDonald’s Arch Deluxe hamburger. Or reads “If you don’t like it, I’ll eat it” below the logo for the Arch Deluxe. You know that at least one unfortunate McDonald’s employee was instructed to eat a partially eaten Arch Deluxe by a distinctly rude customer. McDonald’s put a lot of faith into the Arch Deluxe, it would seem. They also didn’t like food being wasted.

“Very unpopular RPG” brings to mind phrases like “detested sandwich”.
A portion of an ad for McDonalds Arch Deluxe, a hamburger from the 1990s that was very poorly received.

HE SHALL NOT BE STOPPED
Mr Domino from No One Can Stop Mr Domino! Above him are the words Anno Domino, which means “Year of Our Domino”, and is a play on Anno Domini, the origin for AD.

US: CDs are oddly hard to find, as most stores dedicated to music have switched almost entirely over to vinyl.

Japan: Used CDs galore, but new ones will be pretty expensive. This is offset by how absurdly inexpensive used ones can be found, however.

UK: Kind of expensive, but wide variety.

Now that I’m back home, I can safely say that the UK has some of the best availability when it comes to old guy music on CDs in the modern era. I was able to fill in some gaps in my collection relatively affordably, which is nice.

Let’s give more candy bars sequels.
A candy bar labeled Milky Way 2. At first I thought it was just because it was a double pack of smaller candy bars. After opening and eating it, however, it’s a variant on the classic milk way that doesn’t have caramel. Light research leads me to believe this is just what Milky Way bars are in Europe, but I could be mistaken. Either way, pretty good.

I’m watching this game show in my hotel room. It’s called Tipping Point, and it’s pretty much just a quiz show with a coin pusher element. Honestly, it’s decently compelling in a hotel room kind of way.

I will forever buy Arcade Archives games whenever on sale. Usually it’s a fun exploration of an obscure title. Occasionally it’s bafflement at an arcade game’s control scheme. Looking at you, The Tin Star.

Last night I had a dream that I came across a bootleg Ms Pac Man cabinet that played the intro sample from Groove Is in the Heart when you started a game. Honestly, it was pretty natural fit.

I do love the colorful and nonstandard nature of Famicom carts. Also, Route-16 Turbo is great.

2004: Man, I hope someday I can have a copy of Snatcher. Then I’d be a real collector!

2025: Bootleg SG-1000s? Where are they. I will immediately start walking in their direction. With a Soggy-1000, it is impossible to be a Man of Constant Sorrow.

As much as I want to avoid being a local cliche, I always end up loving Don’t Go Back To Rockville.

This is a good call. I found a box that was priced reasonably and ended up taking your advice. Plus, I figure with the extra cards I can give them to friends in an effort to get a going play group. Thanks for the heads up!

I’ve never been actively into a trading card game, but this Gundam TCG may pose an active threat to my wallet. If we get new art of obscure characters and suits, I can easily see myself getting hooked.

Beyond psyched about this, this was my first Final Fantasy title, which I think goes a long way in explaining how my tastes in games developed. Seriously though, it’s terrific.

If you’ve got a backlog of games you’ve been meaning to try out, it’s a pretty good way to not only explore them, but give them a chance to breathe a bit. Once I fell down the rabbit hole, I explored a lot of stuff that I’d back burner’ed.

This Indian restaurant I just ordered from has YouTube auto playing dance numbers from various Bollywood movies, and honestly I’ve never been more okay with waiting for a take out order. This rules.
