I’m old enough to remember when Republicans were free traders and dead set against protectionist trade policies like tariffs. Add to that there are those pesky videos of Reagan saying it. He is losing his marbles in real time as we watch.

the “Free Speech” president has ended negotiations with Canada because they played an ad showing a real speech by a real US POTUS about tariffs.Seems like this speech needs to find lots of airtime.As much as I hate Reagan for being the first domino to get us here, if it gets under that orange skin..

PPI and CPI are both higher in ‘25 than in ‘24. More importantly, exports especially of agricultural goods are getting hammered. We are likely going to have record high trade deficits this year. By any measure this admins trade policies are an abject failure

FYI, the 2 upticks in mortality in 1880-90 and 1910-20 were major flu epidemics, you know the first time people willingly wore masks to make each other safer. Also the precipitous drop in the 20th century is due primarily to vaccines. And in Rob Schneider’s lifetime the rate has dropped 90%.
