Just before Edinburgh's festival season kicks off tomorrow... Those of you who come to our concerts will know that we work very hard on the atmosphere at our gigs. We want everyone to feel welcome: to paraphrase Alasdair Fraser, ‘the vibe is not trivial’. (1/3) #MusicianSky
And lastly, we'll be back in 2026 from the 1 - 11 May so make sure to get the dates in your diary. Will we be seeing you then? 📆

You can stay up to date with everything we have planned by joining our mailing list. Details of how to this at: edinburghtradfest.com

This wee round-up video made by Christina Webber. The audio is from Piurt Set by Kathleen MacInnes, recorded live at #EdinTradfest2025 and mixed by Mattie Foulds. Keep an eye out for her new album coming soon, which will feature more tracks recorded with us and loads of other beautiful stuff.
Well here we are, exactly 1 month on from where #EdinTradfest25 started and what a joy it's been! 🙏 This year's shenanigans featured:

👏 3171 happy punters
🎶 111 musicians
👶 40 toddlers
🎻 24 concerts
⭐ 7 x 5 star reviews
🎓 4 workshops
🌳 3 pop-up gigs
🎼 3 generations of pipers
💛 1 brilliant festival
Thanks so much to all of you who came to our shows and helped to make them so special. Please continue to support #LiveMusic and #MusicFestivals wherever possible and keep an eye out for our wee round-up video coming very soon... #MusicianSky

📷 All these brilliant photos by Douglas Robertson.
We had three generations of Highland pipers on stage at the same time, a stage invasion of 40 pre-schoolers, some formidable throat singing, a 400-strong standing ovation at @thequeenshall.bsky.social, audience as backing singers, incredible crowd-band interaction, and just so many perfect concerts.
Well, that's *almost* a wrap on #EdinTradfest25 - we're just putting the finishing touches on our round-up video and reporting, but wanted to celebrate that 2025 saw more audience members than ever before at @traversetheatre.bsky.social (up 15% on 2024), hosting 111 musicians over the Festival. 💛
⭐⭐⭐⭐ for Siobhan Miller Band last week!

'From the familiar manner in which many attendees greet one another, to the effusive cheers for the show's organisers, to Miller’s own recollections of learning songs from folk scene grandees, it’s clear that this music cultivates a sense of community...'
2 minutes from an extraordinary performance from Pelkkä Poutanen yesterday evening. What a treat for the audiences that joined us. "...it’s enticing, haunting, mesmerising, spiritual and hypnotic.” - Songlines
