I like puppies because they are fluffy and cuddle with me. Anyways journalism is a thing where someone tells someone else what happened and writes a long detailed article no one reads in lieu of looking at a click bait headline and a picture of a person before pressing the share button

Allyship is also a broad broad term. Ally ship is buying books by and about people from underrepresented groups; ally ship is being fair and equal to people from marginalized groups; ally ship is going out of your way to learn about someone else's struggles and how you might help. 1/2

Behind the mirror
sits the woman
I hope to become

So much more a sister
a daughter, a partner, a friend
so much more than the sum

of all my pieces
once jagged now soft
from trying to put me together again.

Even a shattered prism
shows a rainbow cavalcade
when put to the light.

Behind the mirror

It’s a shame that these people are always going to be around who seem to think that by posting on social media they’re part of some vague resistance. I don’t tend to brag about my activism because I just do it. These guys brag about activism they’ve never done or have only done online

FORGERY

Outside, too soft like a berry,
easily bruised or pulped underfoot, ultimately
misshapen and unrecognisable as fruit.

Inside, too much water, rising like a tide,
eyes holding surface tension
inside a quiver-rim of skin.

The wash recedes, leaving hollows
as it long-trawls dregs
in the comb of emotion,

and deposits them thick at every shore,

clogging words to soggy syllables.
Waterlogged tissue falls apart.
Becomes throat-mulch.

And when he says you look sad, and asks why,
you feel sadder, fumbling
for the frayed thread, while

feeling a wet whip flailing you,
whittling you to the imperfect figure
you have made of yourself.

is it communicates a solution
but the entire cabinet
is full of uranium dinnerware

The problem with words like Liberalism
is it communicates some unity
but as infighting ensues
the extremists appear converging

The room is finally quiet
The only reflection is mine
Another day closes
Another small victory for attrition
But the end is always...
Me.
I don't stare at my reflection
I don't need to know today
I am here
I am enough
Today that was enough
I could do more

Someday I may
But today the room is quiet. Again.
Finally.
And the day closes
A flick of a switch and a clap of the notebook.

I feel like a parrot,
a broken record-
people ask
how does it happen?

pieces chip over time,
voices become reality,
your choices add on-
you are cemented;

tired as I’ve ever felt,
days never ended,
always on edge
waiting to be reprimanded
