I used to get mad when people misused "decimated" to refer to things that weren't 1/10th destroyed, but I've given it some thought and now I've done a complete 360 on it

Going there with my ex, usually in the fall and winter too. Its hard every time I go there now, but I also love it because its a part of me. I got to take Modal there too, and now there's more memories that I hope stay sweet.

My neighborhood is a shithole but it's my shithole. I'll miss it.

Going to the park nearby is always extremely bittersweet. My dad would take me on saturdays, just us two. I remember autumn days with him the most, him humoring me on how to bury acorns and pinecones. Encouraging me to catch squirrels because he knew I could never actually do it.

It was the same for my dad. I remember we'd visit family and every single block we'd stop to say hi to somebody along the way. My family all moved out a while back, but it they could always come back to my house.

My grandma lived nearby, up until she was put in a rehab for her last year. One of my oldest friends lives nearby now too. My mom grew up here after she moved from puerto rico. She met my dad here. Even now when she visits we can't walk without being stopped by somebody she knows

So many wonderful and terrible memories. To sleep in the same room the my dad suddenly died in, to see all the physical damage from when things got violent here. But movie and snack nights and craft nights, singing and performing. My whole life.

It's starting to get to me, the fact I'm leaving the place ive lived my entire life. I finally teared up about it today. I've lived in this building since I was 5, and before that I was just down the street. Its all ive known
