Gonna be honest... They had me at Virtual Boy

@brentalfloss.bsky.social I just want to say I rediscovered "What if CD had G Rated Lyrics?" To listen to in the car with my daughter, and it will now be part of our regular rotation.

But also man the Corey song really unlocks some core memories from a time gone bye...

Hey @gonintendormc.bsky.social just wanted to give you an update on how my journey into getting into wrestling is going.

Met Isabelle today. Life is good.

Just played Dear Me I Was... Took maybe 40 mins to finish.

Cried a bunch. Very touching little story. Given how cheap it is, I do recommend it if you like the sound of a short narrative game that tugs on the heart strings.

I would pull the two new immersive cards in the first 24 hours when they are like this....

This feels like PlayStation and Xbox doing a Pokemon trade.

For those curious what the screen fault looked like, here is a photo. It isn't always black/grey, would change based on whatever colour it is meant to show.

In the end, it all worked out fine, but man... it is such a convoluted process, and while there is only a small number of saves that don't go to cloud they are extremely popular and games where people form a connection to. They really need to solve for this.

To be safe, I also ejected all virtual game cards from the faulty Switch 2, but I don't think that was necessary. I believe when I deleted my profile off the faulty unit, everything would have been "ejected". Either way I had no issue loading all my purchases back on the new Switch 2.

and then yeah, all my Switch 2 saves, the cloud system worked as intended to restore them.

For Animal Crossing, I did use it's bespoke transfer tool to send it from the faulty Switch 2 back to the OLED, and then it was picked up in the bulk system transfer when sending to the new switch 2.

Essentially what I had to do, was move over those problematic save files (though I decided to just move all my Switch 1 saves) back to my OLED, and then when I got the new Switch 2, I just did the same onboarding full Switch 1 -> Switch 2 transfer process to put them all back.

For 99% of save files, they store on the cloud fine (if you have NSO) and are fine, but there are a number of games like the main series Pokemon ones and Splatoon 2 that do not. Animal Crossing also a weird beast with it's own bespoke cloud backup process

Unfortunately I fell victim to launch hardware faults, with a line of pixel discolouration appearing on my Switch 2's screen on Tuesday evening.

Fortunately (thanks to Australia's sound consumer protection laws) it was easy enough to replace at EB, but man... was it a process to deal with saves...

This might be my greatest gaming achievement.

It is a very well put together review, though I do have on question (which may evolve to a criticism)

You said "battle mode has been off the roster for a minute" - what was that in reference to? Because Mario Kart 8 Deluxe had a fairly robust Battle Mode.

I bought Wii Music to simply hunt for the song in that game.

And I am still convinced it is somewhere there.

Part of me wants to pull out the Wii and just play Wii Music for now to try a few more potential methods of uncovering it.

The news about Totaka's song on MKW just reminded me how these videos basically just created a permanent part of my brain that constantly thinks about that easter egg and where it may be hidden in his other credited games.
