The university compact being offered to universities requires colleges to eliminate the recognition of trans people and ban them from bathrooms, locker rooms, and gender segregated dorms.

Multiple major news outlets such as the NYT, AP, and CBS news all omitted mention of that requirement in their articles describing the proposals despite having copies of it.

It's infuriating. They're hiding what this administration is doing to trans people.

This wouldn't just ban federal funds from directly funding gender-affirming care, it would be an effective ban on ANY facility that receives ANY federal funding for ANY reason from providing gender-affirming care.

It's a de-facto ban.

NRA and gun groups only fear a trans-ban using current statute, which could be used to target others under a D admin.

NRA's use of the words "law abiding gun owners" seems to indicate that. I doubt they'd care about bill banning us.
